The big day!

On Saturday, May 19, Prince Henrique married American actress Meghan Markle. The ceremony began at 12:00 pm local time (7:00 am ET) in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.  

 

Princes Harry and William arrived  Together they walked to the chapel and entered  to the area known as West Steps , where they greeted 200 charity representatives. Markle and her mother left  from their hotel to the castle where they picked up some of the bridesmaids and pages before continuing on to the church.

Windsor Chaplain, the Right Reverend David Conner, and Archbishop of Canterbury , Justin Welby, the leader of the Church of England, officiated  the ceremony that lasted an hour approx and at the end  the royal couple held a procession in an Ascot Londau carriage  along the High Street to the reception given by Queen Elizabeth II at St. George's Hall in the castle grounds.  


In the night they had  a reception hosted by Prince Charles at Frogmore House , for some 200 invited friends and family.

     Dress and Suit  

 

British designer and Artistic Director of Givenchy  Clare Waight-Keller  She was chosen by Meghan Markle to design her wedding dress, a haute couture creation with a bateau neckline and French sleeves complemented by a tiara.  Queen Elizabeth II, and a five meter long veil.  

For his part, Prince Harrys used his military suit for the ceremony, and then for the rest of the celebration he wore a black suit with a matching bow tie.  

    Decor

London florist Philippa Craddock decorated the chapel with white roses, peonies and foxgloves, as well as beech and birch branches for flower arrangements, which were distributed to charities after the wedding.  Many of the plants used belonged  to gardens of royal estates and Windsor Great Park , according to Kensington Palace.   

 

The company HRP Production Solutions was selected to be in charge of the lighting and decoration of the places chosen for the celebration of the royal wedding. He took care of the chapel, Windsor Castle and the big top. He also managed the rental of furniture and bars, as well as the dance floors.

    Music

For music, the State Trumpeters , the Welsh Orchestra , the English Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonia Orchestra will offer music at the event.

The royal couple also included several modern musicians and soloists such as: Karen Gibson, Kingdom Choir and  Sheku Kanneh-Mason, the first black musician to win the BBC's Young Musician , in 2016.  

    Invitations

 

The invitations were made by Barnard & Westwood , a London printer and bookbinder that has been making invitations for the royal family since the 1980s, according to Kensington Palace.  

    Photographer

Renowned fashion and portrait photographer Alexi Lubomirski took the official photos of the newlyweds​​ at Windsor Castle after the ceremony. This photographer was also responsible for the royal couple's engagement photos.  

    Cake and Menu

The guests enjoyed  from a menu made by the palace chefs and the non-traditional wedding cake was made by pastry chef Claire Ptak, owner of the bakery  Violet Cakes . The cake combined the flavors of lemon and elderberry, with buttercream and fresh flowers as decoration.
